Dr Brenton G. Yorgason was born and reared in Utah , USA . He received his PhD in 1981 in Family Studies and Marriage and Family Therapy. He has taught part-time at Brigham Young University periodically since 1972, and is presently teaching marriage preparation as well as strengthening marriage and family courses.

Brent has authored or co-authored 80 books. One of the books he co-authored is Disney's annual Thanksgiving classic, The Thanksgiving Promise , starring the Lloyd Bridges family. An insightful book he co-authored with his wife, Margaret, is titled Cherished Intimacy. His newest book is Capturing Your Dreams: 6 Secrets to Personal Change.

In addition to writing, Brent was a marriage and family therapist for 17 years, and is the founder of The Lighthouse Institute. This firm teaches mind mastery, as well as character and change in the workplace. He is a member of the National Speakers Association.

Brent and his wife, Margaret, are parents of nine children. In addition to being a homemaker and author in her own right, Margaret is an accomplished violinist. She says that second only to enjoying their 10 grandchildren, her husband's favorite love is lifting the sights of others.
